FILWP - The Essence
So when we hear they word essence we all will think about some sort of sweet smell. But I want to draw your attention to the essence of worship in our lives.
So when Jesus was here on Earth. He displayed and modelled His unconditional love in so many different ways..We see it written all in the 4 gospels in the New Testament. One of the ways He modelled His love for everyone is by speaking the truth and bringing in correction where it was really necessary.
This entire series of ‘Falling in Love with the Processʼ is God’s desire for each of us to equip ourselves with these consistent principles and disciplines that lead us towards Holiness and Godliness.
We cannot become Godly without our Worship..But it is possible to worship Jesus in vain.
‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.ʼ
Matthew 15:8-9 NLT
Godliness without the worship of God is unthinkable. But those who pursue Godliness must realise that it is possible to worship God in vain.
Worship is an expression of focusing on and responding to God. It is the duty and privilege of all people. Worship often includes words and actions but goes beyond them to the focus of our hearts and minds on Jesus.
Our lifestyle of worship is the essence of our faith in Jesus.
If you have grown up in church settings and environments where people sing and offer their worship through music, you may remember hearing this phrase— ‘Worship in Spirit & Truthʼ. But that phrase right there is how Gods the Father desires for every bit of our worship to be crafted! Worship as a discipline is possible when we learn to practise the balance of worship in truth & spirit.

I hope that God would shift and renew our understanding of True worship. I pray that there would be birthed this genuine desire to cultivate a lifestyle of worship for each of us. And let us all thrive to build this discipline of worship at all times.
Through our obedience to Jesus and His truth, let us worship.
Through our gifts, skills and talents, let us worship.
Through our time and our resources, let us worship.
Through the very life and breath that we have.. Let us continue to worship Jesus in Spirit & in truth.
