Modus Operandi - Living Out of Rest

Last week was an affirmation and a timely reminder from God for all of us. And like I had said last time, I am not sure if I can cover everything that God wants us to hear and apply in our lives when it comes to understanding ‘RESTʼ.
So I want us to continue talking about Rest! Cause we are living in times where we so wished that it would take only one sermon to help us experience that rest in God.
Our bodies and the cravings of our flesh are for the temporal, but our soul always longs for the eternal!
When Jesus steps into our lives, He doesn’t just fix our surface level needs and desires. The impact of His love, his scriptures and his revelation truth transforms us inside out.
That is the redemptive and the transformative power of the gospel message.
So do we really need a vacation ?
We donʼt always need a vacation or a getaway. We donʼt need to just wait for holidays to show up on our calendar. We need to be intentional and ruthless and make every way possible to make sure that we are experiencing this biblical rest!
Resting is an act of faith.
A declaration that we believe that God is indeed the one who fights for us and that His desire for us is to quietly trust in Him.
That is why the Psalmist captures what God has to say…
Be still, and know that I am God! - Psalm 46:10
If you are not creating those spaces for spiritual habits and disciplines, you are not allowing faith to be built! And if faith is not being built, you are really not experiencing the rest that is promised by Christ.
The promise of rest is meant to thrust you into your faith journey.
